NJ Motorcycle Equipment Requirements
Safety Helmet: Requirement in law -- Reflectorization
Eye Protection: Requirement in law -- Manufacturer requirement for motorcycle manufactured after 1/1/78
Rearview Mirror: Requirement in law
Brakes: Requirement in law -- One wheel (Both wheels for 1974 or later model year motorcycle; Required by inspection regulations)
Handlebar Height: Requirement in law -- Handgrips below shoulder height
Passenger Seat (if carrying passenger): Requirement in law
Passenger Footrests (if carrying passenger): Requirement in law
Passenger Handhold (if carrying passenger):
Headphones Prohibited:
Turn Signals:
Speedometer/Odometer:
Daytime Headlight Use:
Periodic Inspection: Requirement in law

Jeff, thanks for posting this but the laws for all surrounding states are posted in our Safety page of the main website.
Also, all military members must abide by base regulations as well as those published by the state. Just as all civilians must abide by the regulations when riding on a military installation. New AFI 91-207 and Col Martins policy. (I know you always ride legal, this is a general statement to all).
