YORK COUNTY 9/11 WTC MEMORIAL

STEEL ESCORT

As everyone knows, our country suffered a tremendous loss when attacked in the early morning of September 11, 2001. Since that fateful day, thousands of our fellow Americans have been serving in the armed forces to ensure that this type of event will not occur on our soil ever again. Through the sacrifices made by over 5000 of them we benefit from the freedoms that we have and are able to continue our way of life.

Throughout this country many ceremonies will be held in remembrance of the events on that fateful day. One such event is taking place in York PA on Friday 11SEP09 and the PGR has been asked to attend as honored guests and participants. On the 8th anniversary of the attack, a section of steel from the World Trade Center is being transported from Fire Island NY to the Prospect Hill Cemetery in York to become a permanent part of the display honoring all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. In connection with this, York County has asked that the steel be on display during their ceremony at the new Judicial Center in downtown York.

The PGR has been asked to escort the steel into York, stand a flag line during the ceremony & while the steel is on display and then escort it to the PHC for an acceptance ceremony. Since PGR has escorted and delivered all of the memorial flags on display at PHC, the PGR will escort this hallowed symbol of freedom and our countries values into York and to its final resting place at the cemetery.

Please do whatever you need to do to join us the morning of this event to honor and show respect for a symbol of those who were innocent victims, their families and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our great country.
